LisaMarie Woody, Artistic Director - Founder - Instructor
LisaMarie “LM” began dancing as a toddler in San
Francisco, California and now after many years of dancing professionally, she
is excited to be the Artistic Director and Founder of JAMA.LM is
a seasoned performer and educator; specializing in children’s and adult dance
technique classes in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop,
Musical Theater and Salsa.As a youth, LM
was privileged to be a member of the nationally acclaimed Dance Connection of
Palo Alto’s Performing Company.Through
DCPA, she competed often and claimed California State and National solo titles,
as well as received recognition for her choreography.At fourteen years old, LM auditioned for the
Foothill Repertory Company under the award winning direction of, Bubba Gong,
where she earned her spot as the youngest member in the history of the
company.In following years, she would
continue her dance studies at many renowned institutions including:The San Francisco School of Ballet, The
Julliard School, Arizona State University, San Francisco State University,The Edge School of Performing Arts and Cirque
du Soleil; and under the instruction of dance legends: Debbie Allen, Savion
Glover, Mia Michaels, Joe Tremaine and Jackie Sleight.Now happily relocated to Shasta County, she
likes to spend her free time hiking in the beautiful surroundings with her
beloved Mini Aussie, Jama.LM also
enjoys cooking, photography, and traveling as well.LM not only brings her dance skills and
expertise, but also an enormous love for dance to share with all.
